Current copies of the Albuquerque Journal are available in the Learning Commons of Zimmerman and at the Fine Arts & Design Library. Back issues can be found on microfilm (1926-2021) and through various online databases. Check out our research guide for newspapers for more options!

Other local and regional print newspapers are housed in the Tower (Closed Access) of Zimmerman Library, including:

  • Jemez Thunder
  • Santa Fe Reporter
  • Taos News
  • Union County Leader

Newspaper databases are also a good source for local newspapers. They can be found by:

  • Going to library.unm.edu/
  • Click on Databases link and select "Newspaper/News" in the Types box
  • New Mexico Newspaper Project and New Mexico Newspapers have selected New Mexico resources.
  • Newsbank will provide access to New Mexico newspapers since 1995.
  • NewspaperArchive will provide access to historic New Mexico newspapers.

Note: Some local newspapers not available in print may have a microfilm copy. Please check our catalog for current holdings.
