Yes, with some caveats.
You can download the Respondus LockDown Browser here, or from canvasinfo.unm.edu > External Apps > External App Integrations > Respondus Lockdown Browser & Monitor.
You instructor may also have a link in Canvas; if they do, make sure to download the program via that link, as it will have their required settings already enabled.
Note: You may not be able to use Respondus LockDown Browser on library computers if your instructor has also enabled Respondus Monitor. Respondus Monitor uses features like live proctoring, environment checks, etc. If you're unable to access your test via library computers because of this requirement, we would encourage you to contact your instructor to make alternative arrangements.
On our Desktop PCs & Windows Laptops:
- Download Respondus LockDown Browser here (or via Canvas). Once downloaded, open the item and install it.
- Once installed, locate the program on the desktop and open it.
- You will then be taken directly to Canvas, where you can log in with your NetID and password.
On our Macbook Laptops:
- Download Respondus LockDown Browser here (or via Canvas). Once downloaded, open the item and install it.
- When installing, you may be prompted for a password; click "Install Software" to bypass that screen.
- Once installed, you will need to disable certain automatically enabled features to use the program. Go to Macintosh > System Settings > General > Sharing and uncheck Screen Sharing, Remote Login, Remote Management.
- You may be prompted to close additional applications, such as FaceTime. You can either select the "Close Application and Continue" button in LockDown, or quit LockDown and close the other applications manually.
- You will then be taken directly to Canvas, where you can log in with your NetID and password.
