We use a proxy server for authentication, which is different from what the "Access via my Institution" button expects.

When you search our databases or catalog, the link to the article is already proxied, so there's no issue. But if you find an article via a web search engine, and you are off campus, you won't be accessing the site via our proxy, so you won't have access.

One option is to install our proxy server bookmarklet in your browser (by dragging it into your browser's bookmarks bar). Then, whenever you are at a page with the "Access via my institution" button, you can click the bookmarklet and it will reload the page via the proxy. Note that if we don't have access to the content via that site, you'll either get an error message (in which case, just hit your back button) or you'll see that you are accessing it through UNM, but still not have an option to download the pdf.

In either case, inter-library loan is usually your best option.

A second option, if you are using Google Scholar, is to use the proxied version from our database page. This will show working links to much of the content we have access to.
