Q. What does "View in WorldCat Discovery" mean?
The University Libraries has two search interfaces for our catalog: EBSCO Discovery Service (EDS) and WorldCat Discovery.
If you are in EDS, the View in WorldCat link takes you to the catalog record in WorldCat.
Why would I ever want to do that?
Generally, you wouldn't.
We are currently experiencing an issue with EDS where there are no links to online streaming media. Those links are available from the WorldCat record, so we are providing a link from EDS to WorldCat Discovery. Unfortunately, we have to provide that link on all catalog records, not just the affected ones.
As soon as the the issue with EDS is resolved, we will be removing that link.
