UNM Main Campus has three libraries-- Zimmerman Library, Centennial Science & Engineering Library, and Fine Arts & Design Library. Each library house materials related to specific areas of study:

Items are grouped into collections of similar items-- Books (or monographs), Periodicals / Journals, Oversize, Reference, etc. Items are shelved according to the Library of Congress call number system

To find a specific item, search for it in our catalog. The catalog record will tell you the item's:

  • Status - whether the item is available or already checked out
  • Location - which library on campus houses the item, and what floor it's on (if applicable)
  • Call Number - where the book is on the shelf

UNM Albuquerque North Campus also hosts the Law and Health Sciences libraries, each of which have their own distinctive collections.

UNM branch libraries follow the same organizational scheme, on a smaller scale.
