The current issue of an electronic journal may be restricted for a variety of reasons:

  • Publisher's embargo (deliberately not published electronically for a specified amount of time)
  • Perpetual access to back issues is not necessarily available even though there is a current subscription
  • Issue not printed or electronically uploaded by journal or publisher on time
  • Link to issue or database not working

To get an article from a current issue of a particular journal:

  • Search for the current issue in print format
    • Start at library.unm.edu
    • Select the Journals Only button on the left
    • Enter the name of the journal
    • Select the journal title from the results to view print holdings and/or electronic online access

*Note: Some journal titles with common names such as Nature and Science can be found more easily by using the Databases button on library.unm.edu
